Weathered Blue Transferware Sarreguemines Compotier

This French ironstone compote dish, dating from around 1900, was made by Sarreguemines and is in their 'Noisettes', or hazelnut, pattern. 

Beautifully decorated with a blue garland border of hazelnuts and foliage, it also has a beautiful timeworn patina to it, with buttery crazing adoring the top of the plate. Raised on a small footed stand, this terre de fer cake plate is perfect both for display and use.  

There are no chips but there are two hairlines to the edge rim on this stand, and so it has been priced to reflect this.
