These are great pieces of collectable kitchenalia. Ceramic strainers like this were usually placed in sinks or on deep plates to help wash fruit and vegetables. They aren’t often seen with handles, which also act as dividers if you want to rinse different types of food in the different sections. These are a great cute size which make excellent items to display around the kitchen.
This examples are in good overall condition considering their age.
Circular Strainer - This is in nice clean condition with no cracks. There is a small chip on one side which is less than a centimetre in length. As it has not stained, it blends in reasonably well with the rest of the piece. This measures 18cm long, 16cm wide and 5cm tall.
