Vintage White Ironstone Advertising Platter - DCL Yeast

This display platter is a wonderful large and useful size. Featuring fantastic underglaze black transfer print advertising "Pure DCL Yeast", it is a striking piece of antique advertising. The standout feature is the package of yeast in the middle of the plate.

Very few of these platters come available for sale, making this a wonderful item to add to a white ironstone or kitchenalia collection. This example dates to the mid 20th Century and was designed to be used in a grocers or bakers shop, from which fresh yeast would be cut to order. 

It is in excellent condition. There is some very light crazing all over but this hasn't stained. There is also a minor glaze fault in one corner and some scuff marks in another, as well as general wear to the base rims. Overall, though, it is in lovely clean condition.
