Vintage Mid 20th Century Carved Wooden Sugar Mould - Victorious Peace

This is a lovely piece of antique treen kitchenalia dating from the mid Century, with this sugar or icing mould featuring a wonderful carved emblem for 'Victorious Peace'. 

Originally designed to be used for decorations for cakes, this carved mould is beautifully made. The script of the text is beautifully styled, and the border within which it sits has fabulous floral details. Dating from the mid 20th Century, it is more than likely that this was commissioned to mark the allieds victory in World War II. 

This stamp is in excellent condition for its age, with the carving still exceptionally crisp and clear. There are some surface water marks, likely a result of where the mould has been used, plus a small cleaner square where a label has previously been attached to the wood. However, these factors don't distract from the wonderful carved detail.
