Vintage Large German Square White Ironstone Bowl

This is a listing for a large, heavyweight plain white ironstone bowl, in an unusual square shape, dating from the early to mid 20th Century. A large and medium sized bowl are available to select from.

The large size of these ironstone mixing bowls makes them perfect for use not solely as originally intended, but also as a table centrepiece or displayed as part of a larger kitchenalia collection.

Bearing marks for the German pottery firm, Rhenania, they date to around 1940.

In lovely condition, they are both very clean pieces, with cracks or crazing. The larger bowl is the cleanest example and just has a couple of scuff marks to the edge. The smaller bowl has some age marks in places. There is also one small flake chip to the glaze on one corner but this doesn’t penetrate through and it’s still an overall clean piece.

They are both impressive pieces of white ironstone kitchen ware. Their large size and timeless plain white style make them particularly attractive pieces.
