Vintage French Wooden Chopping Board or Fat Basher

A great sized French heavy duty fat basher or chopping board. 

Dating from the mid 20th Century, this solid wooden basher was intended to be used in a butchers shop or at home to bash and shape meat. However, instead it appears to have been used as a small cutting or chopping board as there are knife marks and wear from use.

Made from pine, it is solid and in good used condition. The wood has a light honey coloured patina to it. Although difficult to show in the photographs, the middle of the board dips down on both sides from where it has been well used.
