Vintage French Pierced Tin Cheese Mould

A very sweet antique French tin cheese mould, known in French as a faiselle, dating from the early part of the 20th Century.

With pierced holes all over, the purpose of this mould was to drain away the whey during the cheesemaking process. Standing on raised feet, and with a natural timeworn patina, it is now a perfect decorative item for the home. It is ideal for storing trinkets or jewellery, of for simply displaying on its own.

There is some oxidisation and wear to the tin from age and use, mainly on the inside of the mould, but it is fairly light and does add to the patina of the piece.
