Vintage French Floral Oil on Board - Peonies

The peonies on this vintage French floral oil painting have been beautifully captured on board.

Dating to the mid 20th Century, it's a very pretty piece with lots of attention given to capturing the beautiful tones of the petals and foliage. The layering of the paint also really draws you in.

I especially like the addition of beading to the edge of the board to create the effect of a frame. One piece of this has bowed very slightly away from the painting but it isn't overly notable and could be rectified with the addition of a small nail.
