Vintage French Blue and White Ironstone Butter Dish

A very sweet vintage French ironstone butter dish, with a lovely blue transferware pattern.

This piece emulates St Uze with its use of blue floral decoration, countryside imagery and swooping birds. It's such a beautiful item but, made from earthenware, it is also immensely practical as this will keep butter cool even in warmer temperatures.

There are some nibbles to the top rim of the base dish, as well as a chip to one corner of the lid. But it can still be displayed and used without noticing these flaws.
