Vintage French Beurre - Butter - Cooler

A beautiful example of a large French stoneware dish for ‘Beurre’ - or butter.

Dating from the mid to late 20th Century, this style of butter dish, featuring black on white typography in the French Art Deco style, isn’t often seen. It’s a great display piece but is also perfect for day to day use. The holes in the lid were intended to help air circulate and keep the butter cool. 

The dish is in excellent condition and is overall very clean save for a few minor scuff marks and age spots on the lid. 

Perfect items for adding a French country look to your interior, it is also a very usable piece.
