A rare complete English advertising caviar pot for the world famous Fortnum & Mason's in Piccadilly, London, dating from the mid to late 20th Century.

This wonderful white ironstone Fortnum & Mason's caviar is a great example, featuring advertising on both sides of the pot. Appointed as grocers to the Royal household, the Royal Warrant issued under Queen Elizabeth appears on the lid of this wonderful pot, and the company's address appears on one side. Fortnum & Mason's is an iconic British brand. Available in a range of sizes, this is one of the smaller sized pots that would have been available, and is complete with a sturgeon transfer.

Caviar would only have only been available to purchase at the Piccadilly store and these white ceramic containers were also considered throwaway items. So these little pots are now extremely hard to find. Bearing a mark for Crown Winsor on its base, the white ironstone was fairly thick on them, making them quite durable little pots.

In overall good and clean condition, this pot is a nice example with a very clear transfer print logo. There are no chips or cracks and just some light crazing all over.
