This is a delightful little vintage European biscuit mould with a range the depiction of a 19th Century family.

Dating to the mid 20th Century, these moulds would have been intended to imprint biscuits, gingerbread and even butter. This mould is unusual in the level of detail in each pitcure, they are normally quite plain.

Although it has a wood effect finish, this appears to have been made from a resin type substance. But this means it is a very durable and hard wearing piece. The piece is finished with varnish which has tarnished a little on the outer frame. 

A sweet piece for ongoing use or display, with a hook for hanging.
