This is a listing for a small antique deeply carved butter stamp with pineapple decoration. Dating from the late Victorian period, pineapples at the time were a symbol of prosperity and good luck.

This butter mould is in very good condition, with a deeply carved pattern and rich patina. This is a very small example, although this makes the detail of the carving even more impressive.

This stamp is in good overall condition. The carving itself is still very clear. There are some marks and scuffs to the outer casing, which have occurred through age, but these add to the patination of the wood. The handle also has some wear to it. Overall, though, it is in a sturdy and usable condition.

Butter stamps like these make excellent decorative pieces of kitchenalia, and are also good to use either for decorating small butter pats or as use as biscuit stamps (they work particularly well on shortbread).
