Stunning Antique Victorian Silver Plated Bread Platter

An unusual and stunning example of a rarely seen square shaped bread or cutting board complete with its original silver plated liner base, dating from the late 19th Century.

Carrying a mark for Pinder Bros on its base, this breadboard is a fantastic feature piece. Consisting of two parts, a wooden board has been cut to fit inside the plate tray perfectly. It sits inside a highly decorative silver plate tray, decorated with cornucopia swirls and rosettes.

This is an excellent quality piece of kitchenalia which is still in lovely condition. The decorative tray really elevates the piece. The board is unwaxed and so is perfect for ongoing use. There are a number of knife marks to the board from use, plus some small knocks in places but it is still very usable. There is also some light tarnishing to the silver plate in places, but this is quite minimal overall.
