Stunning 19th Century French Portrait - Oil on Board

This piece stole my heart as soon as I stumbled across it at a fleamarket in France. I adore her and could stare at her all day long.

Such a stunning piece, she is a beautifully executed oil on board. Signed (with initials) and dated 1895 in the bottom right corner, there is a timeless quality about her. With her hair loose and relaxed, she could have been painted in any era. The moody tones in both the back and foreground really make her stand out, and contrast beautifully with the soft pink tones of the skin which has been captured beautifully.

There are a few surface scratches and some light wear to the edges of the painting, but otherwise it is in very good condition.
