Small Antique Victorian Sycamore Welsh Cawl Spoon

This is a very sweet example of a Welsh cawl spoon, dating to the 19th Century.

This hand turned piece is a very sweet looking wooden spoon, with a worn patina. Cawl - or broth - spoons - were traditionally used for soups but had wider uses in the kitchen too.

This example has been well used over the years, with some loss on one side. It is however still very usable and would also make a lovely decorative feature.
