Small Antique Victorian Carved Butter Mould - Strawberry

A quality and rare piece of antique treen kitchenalia dating from the late nineteenth Century, with a wonderful rarely strawberry design and rich, dark patina.

This is a fantastic example of an antique butter stamp, with excellent carved detail, turned from a single piece of wood. It is a tiny example, measuring just 3.5cm in width across its face, making the detail of the carving even more impressive!

Although there has been some general wear and knocks to the outer casing of the butter stamp, the carving is still clear, with the detail quite deep and all features still visible, including a fine border. It is in excellent overall condition.
