This is an extremely scarce survivor - the first I have had available, and I have only seen two before now.

The very smallest of the James Keiller Dundee marmalade advertising pots (you can see the contrast against the 'normal' miniature pots in the first photograph), this tiny pot was used for giving samples of marmalade to suppliers and dates to the late 1800s. As they were not produced at scale for the public, and given their fragility, very few now exist.

With the exception of the typography showing off the different medals the marmalade won, the logo is otherwise exactly the same and is still in good, recognisable condition on this pot.

Like most jars at the time, this pot was discarded and was only very recently recovered from a Victorian dumping ground. It therefore does bear some scars of its time underground.

Most notably, there is a small chip to the top rim, with a fine hairline running down the side of the pot from this. There are also nibbles to the base rim and light crazing all over. However, the pot is in a stable condition and the pot is in remarkably clean condition so this isn’t overly notable. The miniature logo is also still clear.

Please note this is a listing for only the tiny sized James Keiller pot; the miniature pot is available for sale separately.
