A gorgeous medium-sized antique French stoneware confit pot. A French country piece, it would have been used for preserving different foods in a countryside property.

Dating from the early to mid 20th Century, these stoneware pots are perfect for modern day use. They add a rustic charm to a kitchen as a utensil pot, or look great used used for display purposes anywhere in the home. And the neutral, grey and beige hues, blended with earthy terracottas, work well in any interior.

The condition of this confit pot is good, with no chips or cracks, and it has a wonderful rustic patina. It has a rustic finish and some odd knocks and scratches to the surface. It has spent time used outdoors as a planter and so has also taken on a weathered and worn appearance.

A hole has been drilled into the base to allow this to be used as a planter, although it would still be perfect for dried flowers in the home. with a firing fault misshaping the rim slightly, and some minor knocks to the edge of the base rim. It has a wonderful rustic patina though.
