These are very rare examples of small pierced white ironstone curd strainers, used to make faisselle cheese. I have a total of three available for sale.

Dating from the early 20th Century, these pierced cheese moulds are a little smaller than those I normally find and they also unusually have no lid to them, as they would have been stood upside down in a tray. With some rustic aging to them, these unique pieces all ooze charm.

There are no chips or cracks on any of the moulds but they all do some signs of age. The left pot has slightly smaller pierced holes than the other two. There are some nibbles to the base rim but otherwise it is in quite clean condition. The middle pot similarly has nibbles to the base rim but it also has a number of age marks and scuffs on the outside. There is crazing all over the right pot, plus a couple of minor rust coloured stains. On the whole, though, this is quite clean.

All very usable still, these pots would also make an unusual decorative feature in their own right too.

Height, 6cm; Diameter, 6cm
