A wonderful rare vintage white porcelain French sauce dish with integrated fat separator.
This French white ironstone gravy boat features black transfer print typography at each end, with initials indicating where to pour the ‘Maigre’, sauce, and ‘Gras’, grease. Designed for gravy, it’s a beautifully shaped item. The typography is also typically French in style.
In excellent condition, there is some general wear to the base rim and a few odd lines of crazing to the glaze. There is also some staining to the inside from use. But the transferware and silver gilt finish are still in very good condition.
A great addition for collectors of antique French tableware or white ironstone who like their pieces with charm and patina.
