This is one of the prettiest cafe au lait bowls I've had available for some time.

With a rarely seen spongeware design, repeating a beautiful blue and green border, and a sepia coloured floral pattern all around the bowl, it has lots of timeworn charm. The bowl itself is an earthy cream colour.

There is a small amount of damage to the top rim of the bowl, with a small nibbled section plus a chip which is about 2cm in length. There is also a firing fault to the glaze on the inside of the bowl, where there is a small lip where the glaze finished.

These issues add natural timeworn charm, though, and it is a very pretty piece and also usable still.
