Rare Large Victorian Butter Stamp With Star Decoration

A wonderful and rarely seen example of an extra large antique Victorian carved English butter stamp.

A larger example than normally found this butter stamp features a rarely seen star decoration with a nice detailed border.

In nice condition, the carving on this example is very good and uniform. Both the pattern and its border are intricately and deeply carved. The carving is also still very crisp and sharp. It’s certainly still very usable, perhaps for biscuits.

There is some minor wear to this stamp, with some minor age cracks. There are also a couple of old worm holes but these have been treated. The carving is also still very crisp and sharp. It’s certainly still very usable, perhaps for biscuits.
