This is a stunning and rarely seen French stoneware berry strainer, dating from the early to mid 20th Century.
Simple in style, this pierced stoneware bowl nonetheless has a timeless and classic look to it. It was designed to be used to rinse berries or vegetables clean.
This bowl is ideal used on display as part of a kitchenalia collection, and is good for day to day use when washing or peeling fruit and vegetables. It would also make a very pretty sink tidy, for cloths and liquids to stand on.
In it in very good condition, with knocks or chips. There is one small firing crack on one edge, but this is stable. And otherwise this is a beautiful item.
