Rare Extra Large Antique Edwardian White Ironstone Granitine Developing Tray
Rare Extra Large Antique Edwardian White Ironstone Granitine Developing Tray
A lovely and very rare example of an extra large plain white ironstone photographic developing tray dating from around 1900.
Granitine were a Victorian manufacturer of ironstone darkroom products. Their belted logo, in black underglazed transfer print, looks impressive against the plain ironstone background.
In modern times, these antique pieces look stunning repurposed as drainers, sink tidies, serving dishes and trinket pots.
In fair condition for its age, there are no chips, cracks or crazing. There is some scuff marks to the dish from where it has been used but overall it is a very clean example. The base of the dish also has some wear from use, as to be expected with a piece of this age.
