Rare Decorative Antique Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard Advertising Pot

A very rare example of an antique French white ironstone advertising pot for Grey-Poupon Dijon Mustard, dating from the early to mid 20th Century.

Made as a commemorative piece of advertising, this is a highly decorative antique French advertising pot. Decorated all the way around, the front features a raised section with the Grey-Poupon logo, plus it features the date the product started being produced. The rest of the pot features the Dijon coat of arms, plus snails and local fruit. In spite of some rubbing and wear, the colouring is still extremely strong. It is a beautiful decorative piece.

There is a tight hairline crack on the top rim of the pot which is just over half a centimetre in length. However, there is no other damage and overall the pot is still sturdy and structurally sound.

I am always in awe of the quality and detail that goes into antique French advertising pots, and this little pot is no exception. A beautiful decorative piece.
