Rare Antique Victorian White Ironstone Bowl - Langton Wesleyan Church

This is an excellent and scarce example of a late 19th Century bowl produced by Wilkinsons.

With distinctive under glaze blue transfer print, this bowl has a simple but very pretty border and very clear belted mark for 'Langton Wesleyan Church' on the front. The Wilkinsons Ltd mark on the base of the bowl dates it to around the 1890s. Commemorative pieces like this were often made to mark the building of chapels, and the date would tie in with this. 

In excellent condition, there is no crazing, chips or cracks. There are some tripod firing marks on the inside of the bowl and a few minor age marks in places but overall this is a lovely clean piece.
