Rare Antique Victorian Maw & Son Graduated Medicine Spoon
Rare Antique Victorian Maw & Son Graduated Medicine Spoon
A sweet and rarely seen little white ironstone antique Victorian measuring spoon, with rarely seen advertising for S. Maw and Son.
Produced in the late 19th Century, this white ironstone spoon measures a Tablespoon, Dessert Spoon or Teaspoon. It stands proudly on two small bun feet. These measures were designed for use with medicine, but they are perfect for use by a keen cook in a modern kitchen.
This is a rare example, featuring advertising on the side of it. Given the small size of these spoons, this is quite rare to see. It reads:
"Graduated Medicine Spoon Registered March 22 1873 S. Maw Son & Thompson London".
This measuring spoon is in fair condition for its age. There is a very small chip to the tip of the spoon but there are no cracks. There is some light crazing all over, some of which has lightly coffee coloured staining in places but this adds timeworn charm to the piece. This measuring spoon is both practical and attractive. A great piece of kitchenalia.
