Carrying a rarely seen Royal warrant mark on its side, this is an impressive large antique Victorian copper jelly mould made by Benham & Froud in the late 19th Century.
In an ornate design consisting of four turrets, and with a central pipe, it has the design number 375 on one side, above which is a symbol of a horse with royal feathers. I understand this symbol was used only on a small number of pieces to show the design carried the Royal warrant.
Made of heavy gauge copper, the colouring of the mould has tarnished over the years but this could be polished. There are some small dents to the top of two of the turrets, but otherwise it is in very good condition, with no splits. The tinning to the interior is worn so could not be used for making jellies, but it is nonetheless still a very decorative piece.
