Rare Antique French Labelled Sauce Dish

A wonderful rare vintage white porcelain French sauce dish with integrated fat separator.

This French white ceramic gravy boat features red transfer print typography at each end, with initials indicating where to pour the ‘Maigre’, sauce, and ‘Gras’, grease. Designed for gravy, it’s a beautifully shaped item. The typography is also typically French in style.

In overall excellent condition, it has a mark for LJ V on its base. There is some general wear to the base rim and wear to the gilt edging on the top rim and handles. But there are no chips, cracks or crazing and it is in very clean condition. 

A great addition for collectors of antique French tableware.
