Rare Antique Edwardian Sardine Tin Opener

A highly collectable rare piece of early 20th Century kitchenalia, in the form of a figural sardine can opener.

Antique sardine can openers like this one are highly sought after pieces of collectable kitchenalia. And as such are increasingly difficult to find. They come in a range of different styles and sizes. This one is a hard to find small example and has been cast from solid steel.

This is a lovely example which is in excellent condition. It is double sided, with lovely detail of the face, gills and fins. There is just a small amount of oxidisation where the opener is attached. The hook is also a little loose but it's still usable. It is a very tactile item, with the rounded end providing counter balance when in use.
