Rare Antique Edwardian Ironstone Measuring Spoon
Rare Antique Edwardian Ironstone Measuring Spoon
A sweet little white ironstone antique Edwardian measuring spoon, featuring rarely seen advertising around its edge.
Produced in the early 20th Century, this white ironstone spoon has measures for a dessert spoon or teaspoon. Designed to be used for Cod Liver Oil Cream, it has this plus the name of the chemist where it would have been purchased - R. Thomson of Elgin - in clear black typography around the outer top rim. Although it was designed for use with medicine, it is also perfect for use by a keen cook in a modern kitchen.
As they are quite small and delicate, they have often suffered damage in their lifetimes. This spoon is in remarkably good condition considering its age. There is a very small nibble to the edge above the word 'liver', plus some light surface scratches and scuff marks, but overall it is a very clean example and there are no cracks or crazing.
