A rare and highly collectable pie funnel or vent, dating from the early 20th Century, for Roe's Patent Rosebud pie funnel.

Ceramic pie funnels started to be used in the late 1800s, gaining in popularity in England in the early part of the twentieth Century. This Roe's Patent 'Rosebud' example is very rarely seen.

Although the black transfer print logo across the front is a little faded, it is still clear and legible. There is also staining to the base rim and back of the funnel from where it has been used. Although there are no chips, there are also two little cracks on the back. However, these are stable and all these chippy feature add to the character of the piece.
