This is a lovely example of a mid century oil painting, which has been painted on canvas and mounted on board.
Pieces like these were produced by at students and local artists to be sold to tourists as mementos of their trip. Although this has been signed by Burnett, it was common practice for people to use that generic name for these works.
This painting is a very pretty piece, with people strolling along close to the Arc de Triomphe. It shows off the vibrant colours of the shops and clothing of early 20th Century Paris.
The canvas has been stuck to board, ready for mounting. The edging is a little loose in places but there is some light fraying and staining to the edge of the board at the back, but otherwise this panting is in very good order. The original pencil border of the painting can be seen on the left hand side, with it not quite bring cut to size when it was produced.
