Pretty Pink Transferware Plate - Longwy Mesange

This beautiful pink transferware pattern - Mesange, by Longwy - is a real favourite amongst collectors of French faience.

And I can understand why, this is a a beautiful piece with birds swooping amongst branches. perched on a branch in blossom. The pink colouring is rich and beautiful. 

The plate is in good condition for its age. The plate a rich patina, having taken on a light buttery colouring over time together with some age marks. There are some light surface scratches but no chips. There is one crack to the centre of the plate but I think this is a fault from the time of production, since it has a slight lip and does no penetrate all the way through.
