This French ironstone compote dish, dating from the early 20th Century, has a gorgeous timeworn charm and patina.
With a beautiful pink transferware pattern featuring florals and butterflies, this terre de fer compote dish has taken on a natural weathered look over the years, with coffee coloured staining and crazing, most notably across the top of the dish, giving it a natural timeworn charm.
There are no chips but there are some light scuffs to the outer rim. There is also a very fine crack to the edge of the rim on one side, about 1cm in length, although this doesn't penetrate through the ironstone.
Compote dishes like this are great for use as a kitchen centrepiece, for fruit like lemons or as a large dessert bowl.
