Pair of Antique French Deeply Carved Shelf Panels or Corbels
A rare set of two antique early 20th Century French wooden panels, most likely to be used as shelf ends or corbels.
This is a very impressive pair of carved wooden brackets. Dating from the early to mid 20th Century, they are also very rustic in nature. They are deeply carved with a rosette and foliage, which overlap along the length of each panel too.
Although the carvings are matching and of a similar size, the wooden panels are slightly different sizes, with one longer than the other. This wouldn't affect their use if they were positioned at either end of a shelf or used as decorative pieces.
They are rustic pieces, with some old nails and cracks evident on the back of each panel. However, they are both sturdy pieces.
