A lovely medium-sized antique French glazed stoneware confit pot, which is the perfect size for modern day storage in the kitchen or around the home. A French country piece, it would have been used for preserving different foods in a countryside property.
Dating from the late 19th/early 20th Century, these stoneware pots are perfect for modern day use. They add a rustic charm to a kitchen as a utensil pot, or look great used for display purposes anywhere in the home, as a display for flowers, or perfect for storing artists brushes. And the neutral, grey and beige hues of this pot works well in any interior.
This pot has had a drainage hole drilled into its base, with the intention of using it as a planter. Therefore, it isn't water tight but you could still use it to display flowers with a vase placed inside.
Otherwise, the condition of this confit pot is excellent, with no cracks or chips. The pot is very rustic in nature, with drip marks and and some scuff marks from use.
