A very nice example of a small antique French photo frame, dating to the latter part of the 19th Century.
With a faded ormolu garland banner adorning the top of this frame, this complements th gilded carved woodwork, which has a nice ribbed pattern. With a glass insert, the frame also has its original silk lining. The easel back is still in perfect working order, and it has a ring at the top should you wish to hang this frame on the wall instead.
The swag bow and garland banner to the top of this frame is especially pretty. And while the ormolu has faded and tarnished over time, it is still a good looking piece.
The frame is in good working order, although there is a stain to the right hand side of the silk lining. It is possible to still use the frame though.
Height, 15.7cm; Width, 9cm (to fit a picture 11.5cm tall and 7cm wide); Depth, 2.2cm
