Large Vintage White Ironstone Carving Platter

This is a good clean example of a vintage large white ironstone carving platter originating from England.

Designed to hold meat in position on one side of the platter, it is a heavyweight piece. There is a slight slope towards the dipped end of the plate, with the channels designed to allow the juices to flow into this.

A versatile and very usable piece of vintage kitchenalia, it is in excellent condition. Aside from a small number of age spots, it is a very clean example and there is just some rubbing and a couple of small chips to the base rims although it does stand very sturdily.
