Large Vintage French Floral Oil on Canvas

Dating from the mid to late 20th Century, this French oil painting on canvas is a little more modern than some I'm attracted to. But I couldn't ignore this beautifully executed piece which is an impressive large size too.

Signed Chavan in the bottom left hand corner, this painting depicts a full and overflowing vase spilling over to a tabletop with a chinoiserie pot which matches the vase. The vivid colours and textures in the foreground stand out against the soft baby blues of the background and tablecloth.

There are two small patch repairs to the back of this painting but it is otherwise in very good condition and is ready to hang.
