Large Chubby Two Pound Frank Cooper Oxford Marmalade Advertising Pot

This is a listing for a scarce large Victorian two pound chubby Frank Cooper Oxford Seville marmalade pot.

Made by the Maling factory in Newcastle in around 1900, these larger two pound "chubby" size advertising pots are harder to source.

The Frank Cooper company produced their advertising pots for their Dundee marmalade in a variety of sizes, and this is the rarer example of the chubbier, larger 2lb crock.

As most jars were discarded with common waste at the time, they often have discoloration and chips. However, this adds to their charm as highly decorative, weathered and chippy pieces.

This pot is in a chippy condition, having been recovered from an old Victorian dumping ground. There is a chip to the top rim on the side of pot and very fine crack below this. It is in a stable condition though. The pot also has light crazing all over, which has a coffee coloured patina in places. However, aside from these flaws, the pot is in remarkably clean condition and has a clear black underglazed logo.

A highly decorative antique piece which would add a rustic touch to your interior.
