A lovely medium-sized antique French glazed stoneware confit pot, which is the perfect size for modern day storage in the kitchen or around the home. A French country piece, it would have been used for preserving different foods in a countryside property.
Dating from the late 19th/early 20th Century, these stoneware pots are perfect for modern day use. They add a rustic charm to a kitchen as a utensil pot, or look great used for display purposes anywhere in the home, as a display for flowers, or perfect for storing artists brushes. And the neutral, grey and beige hues of this pot works well in any interior.
The condition of this confit pot is very good, with no chips and a lovely creamy colour. There is a chip on one side of the top rim but this isn't overly notable and fits with the general wear and rustic finish of the pot, with different colour tones and drip marks from the production process on display.
Height, 23cm; Width, 27cm at widest point (diameter of pot is 23cm)
