Large Antique French Berry Comb

A wonderful example of a rare rustic and country style wooden berry comb.

This is a beautiful example of an antique French berry scoop, made with brass fittings and better quality wood than you normally come across and in a large size. Designed to be pushed through a bush to release berries and currants, these lovely pieces make light work of berry picking and save your hands and arms from scratches and scrapes.

It’s a delightful and rarely seen item which is also still a useful item in the garden or for foraging. But it would also add a rustic French country style to your home as it’s a perfect unique display piece. 

Complete with its original fittings, this berry comb is still in good solid condition. Unusually, all of the iron fittings are made of brass, including all of the combs. These have tarnished through use over the years but it is still a usable piece. There are also some signs of light wear, with scratches and light knocks to the surface, but this is not substantial.
