This faisselle is amongst the largest you can find and is perfect for a variety of decorative uses around the home. Its rustic and timeworn charm just add to its appeal.
Dating from the 19th Century, this was originally used as a mould for making faisselle cheese, with the pierced holes allowing the whey to drain away.
These are now popular for decorative purposes around the home. This is perfect for putting a few tealights in (it would easily fit five inside), using as a planter or as a kitchen tidy.
This has been well used over the years and therefore does have some timeworn knocks and wear, with the deep red glaze worn and chipped in a few places. There is also a large chip to the top rim. It is however nonetheless still a sturdy and imposing piece, and these flaws complement its natural timeworn charm.
