Hand Painted Floral Cafe Au Lait Bowl

Cafe au lait bowls are firm favourites for me, with their beautiful shapes and interesting decorations. I adore the buttery colours and hand painted rose on the front of this one, which also has stripes running around it.

With a mark for Mado on its base, this French earthenware bowl dates to the mid 20th Century.

In fair condition for its age, there are no cracks but it is in chippy condition with nibbles to the to rim and a slightly larger chip on one side. Nonetheless, it's still a sturdy and highly decorative piece.
