Framed 19th Century French Floral Oil on Board

Sourced directly from the markets of Paris, this is a very sweet framed oil painting on board, dating from the late 19th Century.

Depicting freshly picked flowers tumbling around a copper vase, there's a vivid mix of colours, with texture added through the oils which brings them to life. Encased by a wooden frame which has been painted in gold and white to create a gilt effect, this finishes the painting off perfectly.

This painting does show age and wear, with some loss to the paint in places. There are also some knocks and wear to the frame. The back of the painting appears to have come loose from the frame at some point, and has been secured with sone masking tape at some point in its life. 

A lovely small size, the bright colours really do catch your eye and draw you in. There is a screw fixed to the back of the frame for hanging.
