Deeply Carved Antique French Bow Fronted Pelmet

A lovely decorative French carved wooden pelmet, which would previously have adorned a 19th Century piece of furniture and now makes a lovely decorative feature in its own right.

The deep carving on this wooden mount is superb and highly decorative, with shell shapes, cornucopia, ribbon effects and florals all featuring. 

The panel has has a slight bow front to it, lifting up through the middle. Together with the beautiful detailing, this would sit wonderfully above a door or on a shelf.

In good condition for its age, the carving is still pristine. There are some old worm holes on one side of the panel but these have been treated.

Length, 36.5cm; Height, 11cm; Depth, 3cm in thickness but the middle section is 6cm deep overall.
