Decorative French Antique 19th Century Carved Wall Panel

A beautifully carved and very tactile carved French wooden wall panel, dating from the 19th Century.

This is a beautiful piece of panelling, with acanthus leaves flowing from one side to the other. The original whitewashed paint has now faded away, leaving a wonderful timeworn patina. It would be perfect to display on a shelf, furniture or as wall decor in the home.

Considering the age of this piece, it is in fair condition, There is exposed wood at the top where this has presumably broken away from another section of panelling. But in light of the timeworn nature of the piece, this blends in with the overall rustic nature of the piece. The original whitewashed paint has worn, flaked and lifted in places condition, but again this enhances its timeworn character. Care will be needed not to rub this away when cleaning though.
