A lovely rustic and large antique French pierced faisselle mould which is perfect for a variety of decorative uses around the home. Its rustic and timeworn charm just add to its appeal.
Dating from the late 19th Century, this was originally used as a mould for making faisselle cheese, with the pierced holes allowing the whey to drain away. A number '10' is imprinted on its side, denoting the size as they were produced in a range of different sizes.
These are now popular for decorative purposes around the home. This is perfect for putting a few tealights in (it would easily fit at least four inside), using as a planter or as a kitchen tidy.
This mould is in excellent condition and I love the imperfection of where the glaze has finished and drips around the rims. It also has natural timeworn charm with light crazing to the glaze all over.
Diameter, 15cm; Height, 10cm
